Things I like to make in between making things.
ARCHITECTURE: After 5 years at Saatchi Asia, I took a sabbatical to shake up my thinking and follow an uninvestigated passion. The Summer Academy of Architecture at the University of Texas. One of my most rewarding educational endeavors ever. An intensive and unbelievably inspiring 6 weeks.
SCREEN PRINTING: For the first t-shirt, I hand drew the Thai letters (I'm obsessed with Thai script BTW). The second was a poster assignment from class where I hit writer's block and decided that was the idea.
BUILDING: Does your child's surprise 5th-year birthday present belong in your advertising portfolio? I asked him and he said yes.
DESIGN + BUILDING: No contractors. I turned our humble backyard into something the family was able to actually enjoy.
THE MEETING MONSTER: It sounds counterintuitive, but I can actually listen better in meetings if I'm drawing.
PAINTING: Got back into this after a 20 year hiatus. Hey, you can say I can't paint, but you can't say I didn't paint.
PHOTOGRAPHY: I've always loved framing up and capturing the details of life that catch my eye.
